Method of producing alumina ceramic

2012
FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing alumina ceramic material for making articles from structural ceramic with high static loads. In the method of producing alumina ceramic, which involves grinding and mixing alumina with a pre-sintered glass additive/mineralising agent and a fluorine-containing additive, moulding and firing the ceramic, according to the invention, the glass additive/mineralising agent used is a three-component glass-forming system P 2 O 5 -B 2 O 3 -SiO 2 with ratio of components of (1-2):(0.5-1.0):(2.5-3), pre-sintered at temperature of 400-450°C. The glass additive is mixed with alumina and fluorides or chlorides of alkali metals, with the following ratio of components of the crude mixture, wt %: alumina 81-83, glass additive/mineralising agent 15-16, fluorides or chlorides of alkali metals 2-3. The ceramic is fired at temperature of 1310-1340°C. EFFECT: obtaining alumina ceramic having low firing temperature with high flexural strength. 2 tbl
