A process for the preparation of the obtained in the preparation of sucrose-fettsaeureestern reaction mixture

1991
The invention concerns the reaction mixture obtained in the solvent-free production of saccharose esters of fatty acids by the esterification of saccharose with alkyl esters, preferably methyl esters, of fatty acids in the presence of a basic transesterification catalyst. When processing this reaction mixture, unreacted saccharose is filtered off at a temperature between the melting points of the saccharose used and the saccharose ester produced. Unreacted fatty-acid alkyl ester is subsequently distilled off from the reaction mixture. The cost of the process is reduced considerably for an end product which is of the same or even higher quality.
