Roll angle measurement system of guided projectile based on scanning laser beam

2013
A new roll angle measurement system of guided projectile, which based on scanning laser beam, was designed. A strip laser beam scans over a certain number of laser receivers placed in guided projectile, simultaneously the time of the receivers receiving the laser light is recorded. Then, according to the relationship between the spatial position of the laser receivers in the guided projectile and the recorded time, the roll angle identification equations were derived. And the maximum scanning speed and angular velocity of the laser beam can be given by the accuracy of the time measurement. Simulation results show: the roll angle identification accuracy is very high in theoretical simulation experiments, and also relatively high in analogy simulation experiments which consider time measurement error and scanning speed error. It proves that this new method is feasible.
