Research Progress of Superelasticity in Ti-Ni Shape Memory Alloy

Ti-Ni shape memory alloy(SMA) is of superelasticity. The superelastic alloy which exhibits constant stress,large strain,nonlinear damping capacity and high modulus of elasticity effects can be used for making energy storages,vibration controllers and wear resistant components. The progresses in researches on influence factors and computer simulation of superelasticity(SE)in Ti-Ni SMA are reviewed. The effects of alloy composition,heat treatment,stress-strain cycling,cold deformation and experimental temperature on SE are introduced. Finally the major research tendency of multi-elements Ti-Ni-X superelasticity alloy and the computer simulation of superelasticity are pointed out.
