The system mg-si optimized 8y a least squares method

Abstract For the system Mg-Si an optimized data set has been prepared by a least squares method. Two models, the polynomial description of the excess functions and the associate model, are compared. The calculated phase diagram, as well as the partial Gibbs free energy of the melt, agree well with experimental data given in the literature.
