Terminal Control System of a Wideband Net Tester Based on VXI Bus and Its Implementation

As an excellent platform of instrument buses and automatic test systems, VXI bus is widely applied in the fields of test and instrumentation in China. This paper introduces the hardware and the software designs of a terminal control system for a wideband net tester based on VXI bus. The terminal control system uses a dual port RAM with read and write controls as a mailbox to communicate with an embedded system. Control information and response information is exchanged by mails in the format of protocol made by us. The main goal of this scheme is to provide a high speed and friendly interface between users and the wideband net tester.
