Photodissociation dynamics of solvated small molecules

A summary of HgI2 photodissociation dynamics in ethanol is presented. Properties of the transition state and energy transfer into product states are discussed. The relaxation of vibrational phase coherence and population are illustrated and discussed in terms of the solvent properties.
