P2_5 Portal 2: Losing Our Atmosphere To The Moon

We model the physics of losing Earth's atmosphere to the Moon's surface through a portal similar to the situation at the end of the video game 'Portal 2'. We calculated that the atmosphere would escape through a portal of area 0.785m 2 with a velocity of 557ms -1 and would take 537 million years for our atmosphere to drain completely via this method.
