A Survey on Biostatistical Consulting at Japanese Medical Institutes

This article reports a survey on biostatistical consulting at Japanese medical institutes, which included the information on when, where and to whom statistical consulting is provided. The results of our survey bring to light the various empirically-predicted problems involved in biostatistical consulting in Japan, where the demand of biostatisticians has grown rapidly. We discuss the issues making comparisons among the results of this survey, and the surveys in the United States and Germany.
