But Is Business Management a Profession

Business has difficulty asserting exclusive jurisdiction over its abstract knowledge. What are the implications for the university-based business school if the profession cannot assert exclusive jurisdiction over an identifiable body of knowledge? Clearly, many people have been successful in business without the benefit of professional school training. Political implications of this lack of exclusive jurisdiction are discussed. Political realities have implications both for the profession and for the university-based business school.
