Produksi Nematoda Patogen Serangga Skala Laboratorium Hasil Isolasi Sampel Tanah Trawas, Mojokerto

2014
Entomopathogenic nematode (EPN) is one of soil organism that builds a symbiosis with symbiont bacteria produces toxin, which is very useful in pest control. EPNs spread out and grow well on most of moist soil in Indonesia. Trawas is one of south part area in Mojokerto city (East Java) which its soil characteristic suitable for EPN growth, therefore it is possible to isolate and develop the mass production of EPN for pest control purpose. This research aims to develop the mass production of EPN obtained from soil samples of Trawas, using white trap methods in laboratory scale. The results showed, 27 of 39 soil samples from 13 villages (3 times replication) were isolated successfully. The emergence time of infective juvenile on the white trap was around 11-59 days. Each infective juvenile can be harvested 9 to 11 times. The highest amount of infective juvenile production was obtained from Kedungudi I isolate, i.e. 840 Ij/mL, after 11 times harvesting.
