The invention discloses a registration method for SAR image, and the method comprises the steps as follows: respectively extracting the character point for the SAR image and the first assistant SAR image; having overall situation bilateral matching operation on the character point of the SAR image and the character point of the first assistant SAR image to obtain the overall ground control point GCP set; overall situation registering from the first assistant SAR image to the main SAR image based on the overall ground control point GCP set to obtain the second assistant SAR image after overall situation registering operation; having partial bilateral matching operation on the character point of the main SAR image and the character point of the second assistant SAR image to obtain the partial GCP set; partially registering from the second assistant SAR image to the main SAR image based on the partial GCP set to obtain the third assistant SAR image. A registration device for SAR image is also disclosed.
