Sport is considered a healthy habit, but it can be dangerous for persons with heart disease. Cardiomyopathies, channelopathies, arrhythmias, and valvular heart diseases are the most common underlying conditions associated with cardiovascular mortality in athletes. Each disease is characterized by a different clinical, electrocardiographic, morphologic and epidemiologic presentation. They are also distinguished by the therapeutic possibilities and the recommended physical activity. Sudden death is often the symptom of presentation, so it is important to know better these pathologies in order to reach an early diagnosis.
