High-energy pp and pα scattering

Abstract High-energy elastic pa scattering data are analyzed by means of the multiple scattering formalism due to Glauber and Sitenko. The complicated structure of the N N scattering amplitude at high energies is emphasized and different choices of the form factor are discussed. It is shown that the existing data can be fitted without introducing new degrees of freedom.
