Antioxidation effect of purslane (Portulaca oleracea) in rabbit

activities of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD)and lipid peroxide of rabbits were observed before and 11 weeks after feeding 8 g/d of dried Portulaca oleracea L.powder. A decrease in serum malondialdehyde and an increase in SOD were observed after feeding.These results suggested that P.oleracea may be used as an effective anti-aging food.
