According to the surface treating method of the present invention for aluminum vehicle wheels, an alkali etching liquid is used to etch the aluminum vehicle wheel which is not performed by cloudburst treatment, wherein an etching quantity of A6061P aluminum is held in a range of 3-15g/m2, then a degreasing process, a rinshing process, a acid cleaning process, a rinshing process, a tunica chemical synthesis process, a rinshing process, a pure water washing process, a drying process and a powder applying process are performed in order. The alkali etching liquid contains KOH and/or NaOH, surface active agent, condensed phosphoric acid alkali metal salt and chelant, wherein the summation concentration of KOH and/or NaOH IS 10-40g/L, the concentration of the surface active agent is 0.5-5g/L, the concentration of the condensed phosphoric acid alkali metal salt is 1-10g/L, and the concentration of the chelant is 0.5-5g/L. Thereby, it is possible to provide a surface treating method for aluminum vehicle wheels with strong corrosion resistance.
