Clinical manifestations of sub-health of workers working in overseas-funded enterprises.

Objective To study the clinical manifestations and the sub-health status of the workers. Methods 2 580 workers of overseas-funded enterprises in Dongguan were studied. Cross-sectional study method and cluster sampling were used. Survey was conducted using our own designed sub-health TCM Syndrome questionnaire,and the diagnostic criteria on the sub-health status were decided based on the literature review and discussion among experts. Results were analyzed by frequency analysis and factor analysis. Results The total sub-health incidence rate was 72.7%. Clinical manifestations included the various symptoms of the body,psychology and society. The frequent clinical manifestations were weary,headache,dizzy,common cold,afraid of heat,aching pain of waist and back,depression,sigh,insomnia and dreamful sleep. There were ten clinical subtypes. These included fatigue type ,insomnia type,pain type,urine and stool abberant type,dry eye and pharynx type,irregular menses and leucorrhea type,sex type,constitutional type,social pattern and psychological pattern. Conclusion Clinical manifestations of the sub-health status are complex and have many clinical subtypes.
