Sistem Observasi Geomagnet Terpadu Lapan

2011
iGOS (Integrated geomagnetic Observation System) is an integrated system of geomagnetic observation that being developed by Space Science Center, National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN). We have been integrating fluxgate and proton magnetometers to record the Earth's magnetic field, temperature sensors to monitor system temperature, and the GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver to synchronize the time, which is controlled by a minicomputer with an application-based Graphical User Interface (GUI). The system is capable to remote data acquisition in near real-time due to an integrated cellular modem on the system. System power consumption is quite low, so it can use solar cells. The system is packed into a suite case for easy mobility and installation. Test results indicate the system was able to work continuously with solar cell power supply and data can be continuously monitored on a data server in LAPAN Bandung.
