Simulation Procedures for Welding Heat Conduction, Welding Deformation, and Residual Stresses Using the FEM Programs Provided on the Companion Website

The actual analyses on a butt-weld joint are performed using these FEM programs. To demonstrate how to use these programs, the detail procedures of input data preparation and setting of conditions for computation are described. The residual stresses and inherent strains in a butt-welded joint are computed and graphically demonstrated.
