It is well known that physical exercise and exposure to altitude may cause hematologic changes (5,6,10,14,15) as well as alterations of body hydration (2,4,11). It is very difficult to differentiate if such changes are merely the effects of altitude or whether they are due to additional workloads (1,6,7,10,11,12,13).
