The invention discloses an efficient peripheral continuous polishing machine comprising a frame, a workpiece clamping and rotating system and two groups of polishing wheel systems. The workpiece clamping and rotating system is arranged in the middle of the frame, the polishing wheel systems are arranged on a horizontal guide rail on the frame and located on two sides o the workpiece clamping and rotating system, and each polishing wheel system is connected with a constant-pressure driving system. The horizontal guide rail is arranged on a vertical guide rail on the frame through a lifting mechanism. A flexible adaptive following constant-pressure polishing device is formed by the polishing wheel systems and the constant-pressure driving system, and through control of a numerical control system, functions of presetting workpiece speed and rotating speed of polishing wheels, keeping preset polishing pressure constant, automatically compensating wear of abrasive and the like can be realized, and peripheries of workpieces of various shapes can be polished.
