Separation and Purification of Lactoferrin in Bovine Colostrum

A stepwise procedure for purification of lactoferrin(LF) extracted from bovine colostrum by ion exchange chromatography is investigated.SP Sepharose Big Bead of excellent absorption speciality for LF.pH 7.0,0.02 mol/L of PB is used for balance solution,0.25 mol/L NaCl is used to elute non-objective component.Then LF is eluted with 0.8 mol/L NaCl aqueous buffer.The purity and recovery of LF product are 95.07%and 85.63%,respectively.The determine result shows that LF has good immune activity by western-blot.
