Double-Differential Cross Section of Neutron Emission from 235U at 4.9 MeV Neutron Incidence Energy

1992
The energy spectra of secondary neutrons from 235U were measured at 4.9 MeV incident neutron energy. The experiment was performed by means of the time-of-flight technique at a pulsed-beam tandem accelerator with a tritium gas target as neutron Source via the reaction T(p,n). Neutron emission spectra were measured at 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, 120°, and 150° with reference to incident neutron beam direction. The double differential cross sections of elastic and inelastic scattering were obtained taking into account the contributions of prompt fission neutrons on the basis of a well-established theoretical model.
