Bronchial Asthma: A Perspective from Childhood Through Adulthood—Update1

1989
Despite remarkable advances in the understanding of and the development of therapeutic agents for its treatment, the prevalence, severity, and mortality from bronchial asthma is increasing. A greater awareness of the chronicity of the disease process with a greater appreciation specifically for the role of chronic inflammation in this process has important implications for therapy and the possible prevention of chronic symptomatic asthma. A current perspective of asthma and some possible therapeutic implications are presented.
