Image display panel correction method

This correction method comprises: locally supplying an etchant (20) to a defective part (D3) and a peripheral part thereof (E3) on a glass substrate (12) that constitutes an image display panel; retaining the supplied etchant in the defective part and the peripheral part thereof on the substrate to achieve partial etching at the defective part and the peripheral part thereof, thereby eliminating or reducing the irregular reflection; and removing the etchant from the parts to which the etchant has been supplied.
