Analysis of DNA damage in peripheral blood lymphocytes of rats induced by H_(2)O_(2) with single-cell gel electrophoresis

2000
DNA damage was measured by single-cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE) and laser scanning confocal microscopy. The degree of DNA damage was judged by the percentage of lymphocytes with comet-like tail, the tail length and tail moment of the cell. DNA damage was demonstrated dose dependently in the peripheral blood lymphocytes of rats when the cells were incubated with the H_(2)O_(2) for certain time. The percentage of lymphocytes with comet-like tail, tail length and tail moment were aggravated significantly.
