Jasmonic Acid in Seed Dormancy of Acer tataricum

1991
Summary In dormant seeds of Acer tataricum the plant growth regulator jasmonic acid (JA) is able to substitute for cold stratification and to induce germination. The effects of JA on dormant and stratified seeds as well as interactions with abscisic acid and indole-3-acetic acid are described. Studies on the endogenous levels of JA equivalents in dormant and stratified seeds, determined by radioimmunoassay, surprisingly gave higher values in dormant seeds than in stratified ones.
