Are we just playing with DOLS

This article will summarise the development of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS), review relevant case law, and identify technical and practical problems and solutions. It is an issue which should concern all providers of health and social care, whether public or private bodies. DOLs will be a key focal point in the delicate balancing act which must be undertaken intrying to protect the many vulnerable members of society on the one hand with infringement of their civil liberties on the other.
