An adapter for a windshield wiper system as well as its known. The adapter is detachably coupled between a wiper arm and a pivot shaft having windshield wipers and comprises a first and a second coupling element. The esrte coupling member has a recess provided with a shaft chamber, wherein the recess opens into the shaft chamber. The pivot shaft may be inserted through the recess radially into the shaft chamber and are pivotally engaged in the shaft chamber. The second coupling element may be held in the engaged in the shaft chamber pivot shaft and prevent the pivot shaft exits through the recess, the shaft chamber. Thus, the present invention may allow the user without angle constraint in a simple and practical way, assembly or disassembly of the adapter to or from an existing wiper lever.
