Method for monitoring blood pressure

2011
A method for monitoring blood pressure is provided, which comprises: sensing pulsations (pressure or vibration) of arteries at the body surface of a human by a pressure or vibration sensor, so as to generate a corresponding electrical signal; and calculating a blood pressure value by analyzing the electrical signal. The essential difference between the method according to the invention and the method used by the conventional sphygmomanometer is that the method according to the invention gathers the pulsation signal of arteries at the body surface of a human in a normal condition, and obtains the blood pressure value by analyzing and calculating the pulsation signal. By using the method according to the invention, the blood pressure monitor can be used for a long-term continuous blood pressure monitoring, without a pressure pump.
