Warum wird das Auto benutzt? Verkehrsmittelwahlverhalten aus umweltpsychologischer Sicht

Starting with current transport problems and the various approaches for combatting them, different aspects of transportation policy will be discussed in the following from an environmental-psychological perspective. The discussion of solutions to the problem of transportation choice is certainly made more difficult by the confusion of environmental awareness with environmental policy. After a short introduction to the subject of environmental psychology, we are shown that the frequently encountered public relations exercises of official transport policy (increase of environmental awareness - less private motor traffic) should be treated with skepticism. In this context three classes of motivators are presented which may be instrumental in preventing the implementation of environmentally acceptable transport policy.
