Organometallic hybrid perovskites for humidity and gas sensing applications

2020
Abstract Metal halide perovskites have been extensively studied as very promising absorbing materials in solar cells. Gas sensing is one of the newest members in the application list of these fascinating materials. Their physical and chemical properties, the ability to convert an external environmental triggering into an optical or electrical signal are very appealing properties for sensing applications. Moreover, the functionality to engineer their physical & electrical properties, make them one of the most promising, low cost and high-performance sensing technologies. Metal halide perovskites can be considered as a competitive sensing material to the established metal-oxide sensing elements.
