Organic Material Contains And Sedimental Expenses When The Coral River River In The City Of Samarinda

2018
This study aimed to know about organic matter concentration sediment during at tide and recede for several station in Karang Mumus River. Measurements were conducted at four station/ locations (Bridge I, Arif Rahman Hakim Bridge, Segiri Market Bridge and Gelatik Bridge) three times in a month with 12 times measurements. The organic matter content was analyzed by Chi-Square. The results showed that BOD5 ranged during high between 3,6-9,27 mg/L and recede between 9,93-12,6 mg/L, COD ranged when tide between 127,33-152 mg/L and when recede between 96-158,67 mg/L. Based on Chi-Square test, there is no significantly different of the BOD5 and COD content (at 5%) at four stations. Meanwhile, the results of burden sediment when tide between 11,97-138,85 tons a day and recede between 21,27-60,62 tons a day, the result of total suspended solid (TSS) content when tide between 98,33-126,67 mg/L and when recede between 118,33-141,67 mg/L. Based on Chi-Square, TSS content have exceeded the standarts of quality water, meanwhile the measurement of burden sediment is significantly different (at 5%) at each stations. The result indicates that the water in 4 stations has been polluted by organic matter and there were indications of contamination of organic matter and also selting in those river at each stations. For that The Karang Mumus river need to be dregging and to be managed to improve its water quality.
