Particulate detergent laundry

A detergent particle coated having perpendicular maximum dimensions x, y and z, wherein x is 1 to 2 mm, and is 2 to 8 mm, and z is 2 to 8 mm, wherein the particle comprises: (i) 40 to 90% by weight of surfactant selected from: anionic and nonionic surfactant; (Ii) 1 to 40% by weight, of water soluble inorganic salts; and (iii) 0.0001 to 0.1% by weight pigment, wherein the pigment is selected from anionic dyes and nonionic dyes, in which the inorganic salts are present on the detergent particle as a coating and the surfactant and the dye are present as a core.
