Dipole and quadrupole magnets for the first UNK ring

1992
The Serpukhov accelerating-storage complex (UNK) is designed to accelerate, to store, and to collide proton beams. The first UNK ring provides proton acceleration up to 600 GeV. The electromagnetic system consists of resistive dipole and quadrupole magnets, generating a field of 1 T and a gradient of 17.06 T/m, respectively. All magnets are fabricated from 1.5-mm-thick rolled low-carbon steel. The main parameters and results of magnetic measurements of the dipole and quadrupole magnets for the first UNK ring are presented. >
