The invention discloses a safety monitoring device used for monitoring a high-voltage conveying cable on a hydropower station. The safety monitoring device comprises a CPU module, a data collecting module, a single-chip microcomputer, a display module, an alarm output module, an AC/DC conversion circuit module, a voltage stabilizing circuit module, a transformer, a temperature collector and a current collector. A standby power source is connected to the transformer, the inner portion of a metal sheath for collecting the temperature on the high-voltage cable is of a double-layer hollow structure, and an outer-side hollow structure is arranged in the metal sheath. The hollow structure of the metal sheath can reduce the damage degree of the metal sheath, materials are saved, energy consumption and cost are reduced, stable supply voltage is provided to the whole monitoring device through the transformer connected with the high-voltage cable and the voltage stabilizing circuit, an extra power source does not need to be provided, therefore, energy consumption is reduced and the energy cost is also reduced.
