Using grey statistic method to evaluate the optimal distribution for strategic resources in medium and small enterprise

2008
This study aims to apply the grey statistic method to evaluate the optimal distribution for strategic resources in order to understand its role of performance in the maximum profitability of enterprise. It is in the hope to see the greatest profitability as a proof to the industry before decision making, under the premises of resources supply constrain, is made. The study surveyed with questionnaire 30 Taiwanese medium and small industries as its research objects; an initiation with the grey statistic method the study intends to investigate the authoritative relations between the allocation of strategic resource on the profitability achievement. According to the results of grey statistic method, the eight most important factors for strategic resource distribution the Taiwanese medium and small industries should promote are as follows: The capable of product innovation and design; The product positioning; The control of channel/distribution availability; The product's packaging strategy; The target market; The supporting system of marketing decision; The horizontal diversification; The conglomerate diversification and The findings show that grey statistic method is not only suitable for the evaluation of the distribution for strategic resource in medium and small industries, but also it only needs small samples. Smaller data can obtain the results closely identical to that presented in applying conventional statistics method. Moreover, it is also easy to manipulate grey statistic method, in that it can make up for drawbacks of conventional statistics method that needs larger samples.
