Obesity is associated with elevated risk of heart disease. We evaluated the effect of a high fat, low carbohydrate diet (HFLCD) similar to that used for weight loss on mitochondrial function and oxidative stress, and determine the effect on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. 250g male Sprague-
