Catalyst, method of preparing said catalyst and method of producing disodium salt of iminodiacetic acid

2011
FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing aminocarboxylic acid salts. Described is a catalyst for producing disodium salt of iminodiacetic acid via oxidative dehydrogenation of diethanolamine containing copper, wherein said catalyst is a composite material in form of a microchannel plate consisting of an active copper-containing component and foamed metal, where the active component is pressed into foamed metal. Described is a method of preparing the described catalyst in which an active copper-containing component is fed into pores of the foamed metal by pressing, which results in a composite material in form of microchannel plates. Described is a method of producing disodium salt of iminodiacetic acid via oxidative dehydrogenation of diethanolamine in the presence of a copper-containing catalyst, in which a mixture of diethanol amine, water and sodium hydroxide NaOH is continuously fed into a microreactor containing the catalyst described above. EFFECT: simple technique of producing a catalyst and possibility of carrying out the process continuously in a flow microchannel using the obtained catalyst. 15 cl, 1 tbl, 29 ex
