Relationship between serum phenytoin and creatinine levels in grand mal epilepsy
1994
Serum phenytoin levels were measured in grand mal epilepsy patients receiving diphenyl hydantoin. The drug levels were correlated with various biochemical parametres. A linear relationship between the levels of diphenyl hydantoin and creatinine was observed. This positive correlation coefficient was found to be statistically signifficant. This correlation may be related to a positive Jaffe’s reaction seen with the chromogen diphenyl hydantoin.
