Hydrodynamic and optical properties of some polyacryloyl azoxy benzen molecules

A study was made of equilibrium rigidity and the optical anisotropy of two comblike polymers containing azoxy biphenyl groups in the side chains. It was shown that an increased interaction of lateral groups increases equilibrium rigidity and optical anisotropy, however, no regions of intramolecular, liquid crystalline order were detected.
