Protective effects of Rhodobryum roseum (Hedw) limpr. or hxk tablets on lipid peroxidation, prostacyclin and thromboxane A_(2) on myocardial ischemia rats

2001
Rhodobryum Roseum(Hedw.)Limpr.consists of the dried or fresh herba which belongs to the Rhodobryum plant in Braceae in Yunnan Province.HXK tablets are traditional Chinese complex medicine which consists of major contents from Rhodobryum Roseum(Hedw.)Limpr.They were used to treat of coronary heart disease in folk.In this paper,it was studied their protecting effects against ischemia injury and their mechanics. An experimental acute myocardial ischemia model by ligated left coronary artery on rats was made,in which S-T sigments of ECG,superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA),prostacyclin(PGI 2),thromboxane A 2(TXA 2)of serum levels were detected.Roseum or HXK at 1 g/kg and 2 g/kg significantly increased SOD activities(P0.05 or P0.01),reduced MDA products (P0.05 or P0.01).Ruseum or HXK at 2 g/kg increased PGI 2 levels(P0.05),HXK at 2 g/kg also decreased TXA 2 levels. The results showed that Roseum or HXK can protect against cardiac ischemia injury. The effects were considered to relate to the inhibitions of lipid peroxidation and increases PGI 2/TXA 2.
