Observer-based fault estimation for nonlinear singularly perturbed systems

This paper focuses on sensor fault estimation problem for nonlinear singularly perturbed systems with bounded disturbances. The considered fault signals can be unbounded. An observer which satisfies a prescribed H ∞ performance index is presented to evaluate the system states and fault signals simultaneously. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the presented observer is derived in the form of a set of LMIs. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our results.
