Duvernoy's (Parotid) gland adenoma in Indian Water snake (Xenohrophispiscator)

2015
Snake rescue team presented a Water snake (Xenohrophispiscator) with hemorrhagic swelling at the mouth part. It is incised which revealed multilobulated structure. Histopathologicalythere was tubuloacinar structures lined by single or multilayered epithelium;the tubular lumina were totally or partially filled with proliferating secretary epithelium and degraded material or necrotic cells. The tumor cells were cuboidal to polygonal and have an amphophilic or eosinophilic cytoplasm and large hyperchromatic nuclei. An interlobular stroma contained blood vessels with vacuolated endothelium and there were hemorrhages into surrounding area. Few mitotic figures were present. Intra luminal necrotic cells and an eosinophilic secretion were found in the center of tubular lumen.
