White LED Based on Eu2+, Mn2+ Co-Doped BAM and BaSrO3 Phosphors

2012
Series of Eu2+, Mn2+ co-doped BaMgAl10O17: (BAM) blue-green emitting phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reaction. The emission spectra of the co-doped BAM samples show intense blue (455 nm) and green (525 nm) emission peaks. The emission peaks at 455 nm originates from the transition 5d→4f of Eu2+ ions partially replaces Ba2+ sites in BAM, while the 525 nm emission is attributed to the energy transfer from Eu2+ to Mn2+. White LED with color rendering index of 89 was fabricated by combining a NUV LED chip with Eu2+, Mn2+ co-doped BAM and BaSrO3.
