Sorption properties of low-temperature carbonizate of DOWEX L-285 porous polymer

2012
The method of inverse gas chromatography at finite and infinite dilution was used to study the sorption and thermodynamic properties of the low-temperature carbonizate of the Dowex L-285 porous polymer. It is found that absorption of molecules in the polymer bulk is noticeably hindered as a result of carbonization at 300°C. At the same time, the sorbent preserves its ability to participate in π-π interactions. It is shown that carbonizate features a much higher sorption activity due to a decrease in the pore size than the initial polymer.
