Flux-generating and regulatory steps in metabolic control

1981
Abstract To understand how a steady-state flux through a pathway can be maintained and how it can be changed from one rate to another, knowledge of the kinetic structure of the pathway is essential. The kinetic structure of a pathway is presented and its application to the experimental approach in metabolic control, the influence of hormones and the relationship between hormones and secondary messengers are discussed.
