Recyclable materials scavenger's activities are constantly susceptible to the occurrence of accidents that can compromise the worker's health and the productivity of the group in term so fin comes generation. This research's objetive was to evaluate the possible occupational risks, physical and chemical, to which the worker soft Associacao dos Catadores de Materia is Reciclaveis da Comunidade de Nossa Senhora Aparecida (ARENSA), from Campina Grande, Paraiba, are exposed. Between sixteen different groups of materials separated and organized for sale, it was possible to find the occurrence of physical risks, in regards of grouping in sharp/cutting and piercing, in nine different groups of recyclable materials. Chemical risks, of dermal, ocular and olfactory contamination were identified in three different groups of product destination at recycling. This processes a vital instrument for decision makers since it is focused on the development of the work conditions towards the decrease of accidents.
