Bacteria spectrum of sputum patients with artificial airway and nursing countermeasures

2011
OBJECTIVE To investigate bacteria spectrum of the sputum collected from the patients with artificial airway and explore the nursing strategy of preventing and reducing pulmonary infection.METHODS 136 sputum samples are obtained by the endotracheal tube suctioning trough disposable closed suction catheter or brochoscopy sterile brush,And then sputum samples are cultured. Results were statistically analyzed.RESULTS Totally 51 bacteria strains were cultured and isolated with 14 pathogenic bacteria species,28 Gram-negative bacillus strains accounted for 54.90%,12 fungi strains accounted for 23.53% and 11 Gram-positive coccus species accounted for 21.57%,the first was streptococcus pneumoniae, accounting for 7.85%.CONCLUSION Gram-negative bacillus are the major respiratory tract colonization or the pathogenic bacteria in patients using the mechanical ventilation.Inhalation of oropharyngeal secretions is the main cause that patients with mechanical ventilation suffered pulmonary infection and Gram-negative bacillus colonization. It indicates that lung infection can be prevented and reduced through oral rinse, timely oropharyngeal secretions clear and thorough ventilator-airway disinfection.
