Influence of Exercises Nursing Intervention on the Cardiac Function in Elderly Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

2012
Objective To investigate the exercises as nursing intervention on the cardiac function in elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods 60 cases of elderly patients with stable CHF were randomly divided into two groups: conventional treatment group (n =30) and exercise intervention group (n =30), all of whom were treated with the regular treatments, while the latter group were treated with extra exercise intervention. The security of the intervention, cardiac function grade, LVEF and 6 MWT were observed. Results No adverse events occurred during or after intervention; the cardiac function grade and distance of 6 MWT were improved (P 0.05, P 0.01) in exercise intervention group compared with the other group (both P 0.05); the LVEF had no change in both groups before and after treatment. Conclusion Reasonable exercise nursing intervention can safely improve the cardiac function of the elderly patients with CHF.
